Lisa Davies

Internationally sought after Director, Guest Teacher, and industry leader, Lisa’s career in the performing arts has spanned 27 years and 15 world renowned dance companies. Lisa is known for her integrity, quality, passion and dedication to the exploration and advancement of contemporary ballet and dance on a community and global scale.


Lisa Davies joined Les Grands Ballets Canadiens in 1993 and danced contemporary works by Ohad Naharin, Jiri Kylian, Nacho Duato, Edouard Lock, William Forsythe, Mats Ek and others. Her classical repertoire with GBCM included ballets such as Giselle, Les Sylphides, Coppelia, La Fille Mal Gardee, Nutcracker, and numerous works by George Balanchine. Lisa guested with La La La Human steps for the production of Exaucé/Salt in 1998.

In 2009 Lisa returned to Les Grands Ballets Canadiens as rehearsal director. Since then she has been invited to work as Ballet Master, Rehearsal Director or Guest Teacher for the Czech National Ballet, Ballet Charlotte, the National Ballet of Canada, Ballet Zurich, Ballet BC, Stuttgart Ballet, The Akram Khan Company, RUBBERBANDance Group, Wayne McGregor Random Dance Company, BJM Danse, Cas Public & Liberamae Performance and Film. Lisa also works as assistant to Christian Spuck setting his full length work Leonce und Lena for various companies.


In 2014 Lisa founded Danse à la Carte, a non profit organization with the mission to support, strengthen and unite the professional Montreal dance community. She has since acted as Artistic and General Director of DAC presenting annual dance events such as TransFormation Danse, Carte Blanche, the DAC Residency Program bringing together hundreds of local and international dance artists from diverse dance backgrounds and providing platforms for research, creation, networking and performance.
